Each month, we ask our readers to respond and share their insight on all things crafting. This month we asked, “What are some of your favorite spring crafting tips and tricks?” It’s always nice to receive these messages and read the responses. Our reader Denise can’t stop crafting, and always has a kit ready for her on the go. She said, “I have a small box with a lid packed and ready to go anytime I’m headed out somewhere, camp, road trip, etc. I have included scissors, scotch tape, glue, eraser (colors or markers if you are a colorist), some of the basic things I use in my craft. I save it exclusively for when I go out and don’t use the supplies at home – that way I know it is always packed and ready to grab.” Such a great idea, always prepared! Use these wonderful project bags by BagSmith to help you stayed organized.

Rose responded to share her love of rock painting with us. She told us, “What I love most is rock painting, decorating terra cotta pots, and making pinwheels or wind socks with children for Spring displays.” What a perfect project for spring! CutRateCrafts has all of the rock painting supplies you need. If you’re looking for something extra fun, check out this Creativity For Kids Activity Kit: Rock-A-Doodle. It comes with everything you need to turn a rock into a work of art.

Knitting, crocheting, and sewing are all popular year-round. There is an abundance of projects to make for spring, though! One reader wrote in to remind us, “To all knitters and crocheters do not forget the importance of yarn weight. Use lighter yarn weights when you need a thinner and lighter project. Use heavier yarn weights when you need heavier projects like for winter use.” Great tip. Richard wrote in to tell us his story, “I like the holders my niece decided to use to sort out her knitting, crocheting needles by size. She pinned each cup to the wall, with the size on the outside front of each cup, several rows about 1 and 1/2 feet to two feet long. Keeps the needles visible and sorted for easier locating.” I like this needle organizer by Premier Yarn! Organization is important, I’m so excited about these sewing baskets that are now up to 40% off until 4/20. It’s an adorable way to keep my sewing items all in one place. Many more styles to choose from!
